Arthur wraps his arms around Merlin. "They got it all wrong, all those people." Arthur murmurs softly into Merlin's neck. He speaks softly so the three year old, with her father's dark curls and her late mother's name, would not wake from her peaceful slumber. "When they laughed and said 'You will feel differently when it's your kid.' " Merlin turns to looks at him, a little weary of where this was going. Arthur smiles gently at him. "They got it wrong, they really didn't know me at all. It had to be your kid. That's what made all the difference."
