Summary:Arthur lets Merlin know the good news.
Prompt: "I'll Be Home For Christmas"
“O. M. G. Arthur. Could you get ANY more sappy?” Merlin banged his head on the table and left it there.
“Turn it off, turn it off! It burns!” he groaned. “Anyway, it’s OCTOBER!”
Laughing, Arthur pried Merlin’s chin from the table and looked him in the eye. “Home, Merlin. Think…home!”
The expression on Merlin’s face morphed from confused to incredulous. The two years abroad which had been planned for Arthur’s doctoral program had stretched into nearly four, and both men pined for home, family and old friends.
“Really? You’re sure? It’s certain?”
Arthur nodded solemnly, “For good.”
Merlin threw his arms around Arthur’s neck, and some rather serious kissing might have taken place—without the need for any mistletoe at all. He grabbed Arthur’s hand and began tugging him to the bedroom. But at the door, Merlin stopped and pushed Arthur away. “Go put that song back on. Hell, you can even put it on repeat for the rest of the day. It’s my new favorite.”
