Arthur stared at the small figure in his hand, “Merlin, we’re going to figure this out, I promise,” he told him.
“At least your handkerchief is soft,” Merlin replied.
Arthur rolled his eyes. They had run into a sorcerer in the Darkling Woods. He had muttered something about shrinking Camelot’s prosperity and Merlin had jumped in between him and Arthur. Merlin had immediately shrunk to six inches high and started fumbling though his full-sized clothes. Arthur had run after the sorcerer with his sword drawn, but the old man had cackled and disappeared much like Mary Collins had.
After that, Arthur had turned to find Leon helping a tiny, naked Merlin from his pile of clothing. Arthur had knelt down and pulled out his handkerchief to wrap around Merlin. And now they were getting ready to leave the Darkling Woods, to hurry back to Camelot and Gaius. Arthur fervently hoped Gaius could undo what the old sorcerer had done. He didn’t want to have to explain to his father why he now had a six inch high manservant.
