“This is a scenic little village,” Morgana commented as they drove by several quaint little shops.
“Do you want to get out and explore a bit?” Merlin replied.
“Will it derail our timing at all?”
Merlin glanced at his watch. “No, they’re not really expecting us until tomorrow anyway.”
Merlin pulled the car into a parking spot at one of the shops and they both got out. Morgana squealed at the jewelry shop next door and they both went inside. They both knew they couldn’t afford to buy much, if anything, but it was fun looking around.
Next they went in an antique store. And so on, until about an hour had past and it was time for lunch. They found a little café and bought some sandwiches and cool lemonade.
“I’m glad we stopped here,” Merlin commented.
“Yeah, I’ve had a lot of fun.” She kissed his cheek.
All too soon they finished lunch and got back in the car. “Off we go again,” Merlin said.
“Bye cute village,” Morgana said as they passed the last house. It had been a fun diversion from their long journey.
