Morgana was curled up in bed beside Merlin when the alarm went off. She moaned, rolled over and hit the snooze button.
“You know that’s just delaying the inevitable,” Merlin said.
Morgana rolled back over and smacked his arm. “I know that, but I was so comfortable I just wanted that feeling back.”
“Ow. I get that. But we really need to get up.”
“I know.”
They both rolled out of bed and took turns showering. After they dressed, they went to the kitchen where Merlin made coffee for himself and herbal tea for Morgana, who yawned.
Merlin noted this, and commented, “You know, if you wanted to sleep in you shouldn’t have booked the ultrasound appointment for so early in the morning.”
“I was so excited at the time.”
Merlin rubbed her little belly. “I think it’ll be worth it.”
She gave him a quick kiss. They hurried in eating their breakfast and soon they were out the door, hand in hand, on the way to see their baby for the first time.
