“That’s it,” Gwen said, “you’re getting a baby shower whether you like it or not. And you know Morgause will agree with me.”
“I do,” Morgause said, grinning.
“And I get no say in it whatsoever?” Morgana wanted to know.
“Oh, we’ll take your opinions into account,” Gwen replied.
“I don’t even want a baby shower,” Morgana said.
“Darling,” said Morgause, “everyone is having them for their first babies.”
“As long as you invite Merlin’s mum, I’ll agree to this,” Morgana said.
“Of course you get input on the guest list,” Gwen said, “we’re not total dictators.”
“And I detest that game with the smashed candy bars in nappies. It’s disgusting.”
“Then consider it gone,” Morgause replied.
Morgana stood slowly. It was getting harder to move around these days. “Thank you for respecting my wishes.”
“Anything else we need to know?” Gwen asked.
“Please make the colors non-gender specific. You know we don’t want to know the gender before the birth.”
“All right. And don’t worry, Morgana. You’re going to like this shower. We’ll get with you later about the guest list.” Morgause said.
“See you later then,” Morgana said and turned to leave.
The last thing Morgana saw as she got into her car was Gwen and Morgause, their heads bent together, and laughing. What had she gotten herself into?
