“Merlin, where are you? The ceremony’s about to start,” Morgana whispered into the phone.
“I’m about five minutes away, at most,” Merlin replied.
“You’d better be. Because you’re supposed to be out there now.”
“I know, I know. Arthur’s breaking land speed laws to get me there.”
Morgana frowned. “Of course he is. But he’s not the one who forgot his pants, now is he? There’s got to be something Freudian in there.”
“Enough about the pants, please. We’ve already been over that ad nauseum.”
“All right, just get here.”
“Doing my best.”
There was a knock on Morgana’s door. “Got to go. Love you.” With that, she ended the call and opened the door to find Hunith.
“Any word from our groom?” She asked as soon as the door closed behind her.
“He’s five minutes away. Or less. Apparently Arthur’s driving quite fast,” Morgana replied.
Hunith paled. “Oh dear.”
“Don’t worry. He always drives that way. He hasn’t been caught. Yet.”
“Good to know. By the way, you look lovely, my dear.”
“Thank you. And thanks again for entrusting me with your only son.”
“Morgana, from the moment he brought you home that first time, I knew you two were destined to be together.”
Hunith took Morgana’s hands in hers. “You’re very welcome. Just remember that during the hard times, and you’ll be all right.”
There was a loud squeal of brakes outside and the sound of car doors slamming shut. “I’d better go make sure he is presentable,” Hunith said, heading for the door.
“You do that. Tell him I love him, will you?”
