But if you don’t mind that stuff, enjoy this…dark thing i made because my muse is weird.
To be fair, Merlin hadn’t wanted Arthur to find him like this.
It’s just that... Well.
When the urge struck, when the thing inside him wanted to kill, Merlin found himself having a very hard time resisting it.
Usually, the kills were more controlled. They had a method, they had a plan they stuck to, they were always so careful. And usually, everything was done without detection, without anyone knowing what had been done or that anyone was missing.
It was always so careful. So clean. So perfect.
This time though, the thing didn’t want to wait, didn’t want a plan, just wanted to kill kill kill!
Merlin was just a helpless passenger in his own body as it took over to get what it wanted.
Merlin had learned to just embrace it when it took over. He’d done this long enough to know that resistance was futile, that nothing would get it out of him and as long as it got what it wanted, everything was fine and no one else had to get hurt.
Well, more than necessary, anyway.
Merlin and it had a little discussion, however, once it was clear that just like Merlin, it desired company, wanted someone to share its kills with. Merlin agreed to let someone keep it company, but he got to choose.
Not that it minded when Merlin revealed his choice. It loved Arthur, adored Arthur, wanted to keep him safe.
And once it talked to Arthur, he agreed to keep Merlin (and it) company.
That had been ages ago, so long now. But now, the relationship between them has become more. Now, they had a plan, they had a method, Arthur told them to never break the method, never, never, never!
But, it always liked to break the rules sometimes.
So when Arthur found Merlin, bathed in fresh blood, sitting in a crimson covered room, with mangled remains around him and idly chewing on something resembling a hand, Merlin just gave him a small, sheepish smile as an apology.
All Arthur did in response was run a hand over his face and say, “You need to bathe,” and kiss Merlin’s bloody lips.
If there was a small bite on Arthur’s lips as he pulled away…
Well…
That was just for it to know.
