The Prince Protector

"What a performance!"

"I'm in awe, Merlin."

"I trust him completely, but who knew Arthur was that much of a brilliant actor?"

"He lied so convincingly, Uther believed every word."

"The bit about the flying kittens! Morgana, what a hoot!"

"Due to recently proven strong updrafts from the cavern system beneath the castle, don't you know."

"Unfortunate and rare occurrence, that. But no sorcery in sight, none at all, Sire."

"Don't make a habit of cute flying felines, Merlin. You know how paranoid Uther is. Even he will catch on eventually."

"Says the woman who made the castle fountain pour high quality wine."

"I was so tired and just thinking about wanting a glass of something really nice to perk me up. The fountain... just happened."

"I know."

"I will be more careful. But I feel much safer now with Arthur in our corner."

"We shouldn't exploit our good fortune, though. It costs him to lie to his father."

"We'll have to thank him properly. Do something special."

"But entirely ordinary. Keep sorcery completely out of it."

"Of course."

"Honestly, Morgana, the best way we can thank Arthur, is to stay away from more magical trouble."

"Yes. And to stay alive."
