Merlin paused as he ran down the corridor. There were no footsteps behind him, which meant he could take a short break and catch his breath. He leaned up against the wall and held Excalibur to his shoulder. He closed his eyes, remembering the reason for his sudden flight. Nearly the whole population of the citadel had been enchanted to turn on him, and he was sure Morgana was behind it. Though he had no idea why—was she simply beyond irritated at Merlin, the servant or had she found out his real identity?

Footsteps suddenly sounded around the corner, and he took off again, rumination at an end. He’d figure this out, he just had to, before Camelot tore itself to pieces.

Warnings: None
Word Count: 100
Prompt: Photo of Merlin with Excalibur
Author's Notes: I haven't drabbled in so long and really miss it. But I have so many other fests to write for right now that I haven't been able to give it a go. So I've decided to try my hand at a traditional 100 word drabble. Also, just as I'm posting this I came up with an idea for an Arthur & Excalibur drabble. But I will resist the temptation to write it too!
