Surprises
Merlin just couldn't wait for Christmas.
Every door on their advent calendar was open before the 2nd December. Attempts to reclose them failed.
There were no presents under the tree that hadn't been sneaked open then inexpertly stuck back down.
Arthur's wardrobe, sock drawer and desk had all been rifled through.
But there was one place Arthur knew Merlin would never look - the cleaning cupboard under the sink. He didn't think Merlin knew it existed.
And so on Christmas morning Arthur could go down on one knee, hold out the tiny parcel and enjoy Merlin's look of surprise.
