Title:They Deserve This - (Leon)
Pairing/s: Arthur/Merlin (side: Leon/?)
Character/s: Leon, Arthur, Merlin
Summary: Leon finds out what Merlin and Arthur are up to and is grateful, even if his is a short trip.
Prompt:Whispers in the Night
Author's Notes: I think I like these too much. The first one with Elyan is here. Then Kay and his rat issues. And Percival's secret place. Can't forget Gwaine being naked , And Lancelot was a touch emotional. There will be one more of these that goes over each one and says what happened to each Knight.(and of course Arthur and Merlin.)
A late bath relaxed him when all else failed. The day had been long. The night patrol with Percival, just as unforgiving. A peaceful rest in warm water was what he needed before curling into his mattress.
Then the King and Merlin appeared behind him and were yelling about something. Leon was used to it. It went with the territory. They both came to him at odd times of the day and night with odd requests.
"You need to trust me."
"I have always trusted you. It was you who had no faith in me as I recall."
"We've been through this. I had faith in you. If I didn't, I never would have stayed. I didn't have faith that I was more important than what your father wanted."
"You are all I ever wanted."
"And so why is it so hard for you to understand that you are all that I want in return?"
Thankfully it was at this point in the conversation the King had figured out that Leon was sitting naked in his tub watching them fight. As a knight he did his best to avoid intruding on what seemed to be a personal argument, but the reason for it to be had in his chambers while he bathed was still confusing.
"Leon should have clothes." Arthur changed the subject. and pointed at the knight in the water. Leon agreed.
Merlin held up his hand with a sigh and Leon was suddenly out of the water with his clothes on. He wasn't quite completely dry, but he was grateful for being dressed.
"Send him." Arthur ordered.
"I should think this would be redundant for Leon."
"It needs to be done equally for all MERlin, wether or not it's redundant."
Merlin rolled his eyes. A white light covered Leon's face. Surrounded him. For an instant he couldn't breathe. And then he was laying down in his bed a few larger steps away from where he was standing.
Leon could still hear Merlin and Arthur on the other side of the privacy screen, still in his rooms.
"Sir Leon, Please forgive his Majesty's idea of a surprise gift. It's a..."
"Quit apologizing for me!" The King interrupted.
"I'm trying to explain why we're here." Merlin said it with that "Oh-do-shut-up" tone that he somehow only used for royalty.
"Well You're doing it wrong." Arthur whispered loud enough for the entire castle to hear.
Merlin cleared his throat. "As I was saying, it's small token, your king has decided to bestow on his knights. The gift of love, but since you already have found your true love and had the good sense to marry her, it was really only a matter of moving you to your bed. Sorry for the interruption of your bath."
"Why are you apologizing? Now the man knows his marriage is based on true love. I consider that a gift." His king rightly declared with indignance.
Leon rolled over to see his sweet sleeping Elena curled up on her side, hair falling over her cheek. It was a good gift. He had been right to fight for her when all others thought it foolish to chase a Princess once thought deserving of his King.
