Sillage

Some of Merlin's chores weren't so bad. There was helping Arthur with his bath, helping Arthur dress, undressing Arthur...

And in the morning, when the prince was outside somewhere ordering his knights around instead, that was when Merlin had a little time to himself.

He didn't strip the bed immediately, he never did. He preferred to bury his face in the soft pillows and breathe deep. Sometimes he climbed up onto the mattress and lay there. It was warm and comfortable, and he was surrounded by the faint lingering scent of Arthur's body.

It was the best time of day.
