It was laid out across the bed like a banner, the blazing Camelot red of the cloak he was expected to wear.
He could still leave. Arthur would be disappointed, of course. He still thought Gwaine was a commoner, and had knighted him anyway because that was the kind of man he was. Not like King Uther. Someone worth fighting for, perhaps.
Gwaine picked up the cloak, his decision already made.
