'Heavy-metal frost coats the mountains of Venus', the article declared.
Merlin looked up to search for the bright planet in the night sky, - no more just a shimmering star on the firmament now that science was revealing its secrets.
So many wonders of the old world had been rationally explained in recent years. He marveled at the advances of technology and science even as he mourned that which had gone missing on the way. Too many ancient mysteries and creatures of legend had retreated and disappeared into the mists of time.
Sighing wistfully, Merlin returned to the text. His heart assured him that the Once and Future King was destined to bring the lost myths and their magic back into the world. The old world and the new merged into one; – Merlin longed for that, almost as much as he yearned for the return of his beloved Arthur.
