New community input

Good morning,

I hope you all are doing well. So this mod took over a Merlin community and now doesn't know what to do it. The new community seems to be dead. I need this community input on what to do with it, please.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately. this is the fate of most of the Merlin Communities. I have at least a half dozen dead ones on my list now. Maybe the question to ask is: "What kind of community is this fandom lacking?" From there you can just fill in the gap.

That is a good question! And I know what you mean about so many dead Merlin communities. I still love this show and to see interest community die sucks. This is why I took over the community. I don't know exactly what to do with it. I was thinking a monthly fest of just a place where artists/writers can post/rec fic. Don't know yet. There's seem to be no interests for the people there.

I'll sign up for just about anything once (sometimes more than once). I obviously still write a lot of Merlin. Maybe a quarterly fest of some kind. The name reminds me of Harlequin romance novels.

There is one on dreamwidth like that. I did it this year with an original story. We wrote fic to the summaries of published romance novels. I loved it.

That is always fun. :) Along the same lines, writing romance stories using the titles as inspiration. God knows there enough of them.

That is a good idea. Giving book tittles as prompts.

We'll see how activity in the community so far is zero.

Don't know if I should pimp it or delete everything and start from over. Or just leave it as it is.

Pimp it. Ask others to pimp it out too. When I did the fest this spring there was one Merlin story on the finished list. I know the author and I could give her a heads up.

I have to really think and plan about how is going to play out. Rules, pimping and such. I like to have the community set up first with rules, how is going to work, etc. Before pimping.
Because of work and real life this might take a while.

Well, I just started watching in hopes something really does come from it. I wish I had some ideas for you, but I'll think on it. The suggestion to find a lack in the fandom is a great one.

I didn't even know this community existed! In saying that though, I've been a bit MIA for the last twelve months or so - not for lack of trying, real life just gets hectic - ... I'd love to be a part of it.
